The domain Meix Foulot has been a family estate for two centuries. The vineyards consist of small plots planted on gentle slopes facing south, with a variety of terroirs. This wine comes from soil of clay and white marls on a lime undersoil. Agnes Dewe du Couedic began managing the domain in 1966. She works hard to maintain the family tradition of quality and improved methods to respect the environment.
Grapes are hand-picked and carried carefully in small crates to preserve them from oxidation. After vinification, the wine is kept in oak barrels for nine to twelve months and then kept in vats. It is bottled eighteen months after picking. The domain has its own cooper to determine toasting of the wood best adapted to each cuvée. This wine is limpid garnet red, typical of the variety. It will reveal its full potential within three to seven years of ageing.
