Blend: 60% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon, 10% Muscadelle

Pair With: White Bordeaux flavor profile pairs with almost any white food, all types of fish, in creamy sauce or beurre blanc and white meat, like poultry, veal and pork. It will match well with avocado and asparagus, but overly acidic sauces might spoil the delicacy of this wine.

Description

The splendid Château de Portets, a historical monument, stands 25km south of Bordeaux on the left bank of the Garonne river, with direct access to the water. Around the Château are beautiful gardens, ancient trees and 50 acres of vineyards that produce 3 wines, 2 red and a white wine.

It is open to visitors and you can enjoy a tour of the wineries and cellars, learn all about winemaking, and taste the three wines with local food. This new tourist-friendly approach was initiated by the new owner and manager: Marie-Helene Yung Theron. She also made great improvements in the wineries and guest areas. She took over after her father, and her grandfather who bought the domain in 1956.

For this white wine, the grapes are picked by hand and macerated with the skins for 8 hours. After fermentation, the wine is kept in vats and stirred on the lees for 6 months, to get a dry fresh wine with a greenish yellow robe.
