Description
The wine story
Yves and Nadine Hostens Picant purchased the 150 acres estate in 1986. They revived the neglected domain with four years of hard work and investment. Now with help from an expert team, they produce high quality white and red wines served in the finest restaurants by chefs like Guy Savoy, Joël Robuchon and Alain Ducasse.
Their daughter Valentine travels all over the world to take part in trade shows and promote the wines.
This is their signature white, which received excellent press reviews and several awards. The soil of the vineyard is clay, limestone and flint. The 3 varieties are fermented separately. The ageing on lees, with regular stirrings, is in 400 liter-barrels and lasts about 10 months.
Favorite Pairing
Drink this refreshing wine with white fish or scallops, and mild creamy cheese.
Will also pair well with chicken, turkey and veal Blanquette. Good with Japanese food and pasta.
The Region
Sainte Foy is in the eastern part of a Bordeaux sub-region appellation called « Entre deux mers », which means between two seas…It is in fact between the two rivers: Dordogne and Garonne that converge in the vast estuary north of Bordeaux city. The proximity of the two rivers brings a mild moist microclimate and a gravellier soil from the rivers’ deposits through thousands of years.
Aroma
Pink Guava and peaches, hints of ginger.
Flavor
Fresh and full. Tropical fruit of guava, with some salinity, a touch of honey and biscotti from the lees.
