Chateau Laurou is a 120-acre property near Toulouse in the South West of France. It was created in the seventies and bought in 1997 by Guy Salmona, a forty-year-old computer technology executive. He decided he wanted a new life and a new challenge.
He put his energy and new ideas into it and received the Bio agriculture label in 2013. One of his wines was selected in 2016 by the Hachette guide, one of several rewards.
This wine is made from Pinot Saint George grape variety which produces a dark purple wine with complex aromas of violet and spices unlike any other wine. These grapes are not easy to manage because the skin is fragile. So autumn rains can destroy the crop. They produce too generously and are susceptible to disease. You have to be very careful and dedicated to produce this wine. Every step of the wine making process is delicate with this variety.
