Description

Pech means hill in local dialect, so the name Pécharmant means charming hill…This wine actually grows on a south oriented hill, on the right bank of the Dordogne river, near Bergerac.

Elise and Paul Bouché bought the domain in 2000 with only 2.4 acres of old vines. They planted more and have now about 20 acres today. They have acquired the Bio label, using techniques that respect the environment.

The soil is gravelly on a thick layer of iron rich clay. Harvest starts first with merlot, two weeks later for other varieties.

The grapes are destemmed and after a long maceration and fermentation, age for three months in steel vats, then twelve months in oak barrels, giving a full – bodied wine with a dark purple color, that can age very well.
