Description
The wine story
The Jaubert and Noury families manage the domain with passion, expertise, and modern equipment. They have recently built a new cellar with insulation and air conditioning. The XIXth century manor house is made of red brick and white stone, a typical Catalan architecture. There are 60 ha around the house and 100 ha altogether. Visitors are welcome.
This cuvée is from a terroir called Coume d’Ars: the top of a hill is a coume in Catalan, and Ars means wild blackberry brambles. It is a rocky land burnt by the sun and swept by the cold north wind, the tramontane. Only old vines can resist these harsh conditions: the vines here are around 100 years old. They give a low yield but exceptional taste, sweetness and color.
The soil is gravel and clay, the grapes are sorted and destemmed, and the wine is bottled after 6 months only to preserve its fruity character.

Roussillon is limited by the Pyrénées, the Spanish border and the Mediterranean Sea. It is south of Languedoc and more hilly. Together, Roussillon and Languedoc form the largest wine producing region of the world and one of the oldest. With their perfect climate and great variety of soils and altitude, they used to produce cheap wine in great quantity, but today the focus is on quality and typicity.

Full flavor of ripe red and black berries, gentle tannins, long finish with a balsamic touch.
