50% Cot, 50% Cabernet from the Loire Valley region.
The domain is situated on the right bank of the Cher, facing the charming chateau of Saint Aignan.
In 1980, Guy Leveque and his wife Claudie took up his grandfather’s vineyard planted in 1900. It was only 9 acres and the wines were made in the family house cellar, like in many other French country families at that time.
He bought several vineyards in the following years. In 2009, he owned 150 acres. That is when his daughter Katia and his sons- in- law Laurent and Patrice joined the family business. In 2012, they owned 190 acres of varied soils where they could produce a great variety of wines, red and white, Rosé and sparkling and even a sweet wine with late picking.
This red wine is a special assemblage. Cabernet Franc is the usual single variety in this area of the Loire Valley. Here, the Cot variety will add color and softness, and increase ageing potential
