Tasting Notes: Classic aromas of violets and bell pepper blend with rich black fruits and hints of vanilla. On the palate plums and prunes lead to an almost chewy and meaty body with grippy tannins full of tobacco, leather and baking spices.

Pair With: This elegant wine wants to be paired with food, especially a carnivorous dinner like a New York Strip. Game meats and a robust poultry dish will also work well, though this wine has enough delicacy to even pair with lamb. Choose cuts that have some fat, as that will mellow the tannins and allow to fruit to really come forward. For look for aged sharp cheeses, like an old Cheddar or Manchego.
