30% Syrah, 50% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre from the Pic Saint Loup in the Languedoc Roussillon region.
The vineyards of Pic Saint Loup are among the best graded in the Languedoc wine region. The name Thieri refers to the local hero of a romantic legend. When returning from the Crusades, three brothers suffered a heartache following the death of the beautiful Bertrande. In despair, they became hermits on three neighboring hills. They gave their names to the hills, Thieri Loup settled in the highest hill so it became Pic Saint Loup.
It is a wine from the warm South, so it is quite strong and full bodied, with an intense purple color and ample fruity taste.
This domain is part of a greater organization called Vignobles Foncalieu, a selected group of 650 small producers in the South of France. It was considered as one of the best- known brands by Drinks International, a professional review, in 2017.
