Les Ormousseaux – Côteaux du Giennois 2018

Hubert Veneau was the son of several generations of vignerons. When he took charge of the domain in the 70s, wine production was low in the area. He was one of a group of young men who decided to revive it and he worked hard. Hubert extended his vineyard from 5 to 90 acres and also bought a parcel in the Pouilly Fumé AOC.

Hubert died in January 2018, but his two sons Bertrand and Jerome have kept his rules:

Respect Nature, adapt varieties to the soil, get the best possible maturity of the grapes, use native yeast only, and select grapes after picking.

This wine is produced from 8 to 30-year-old vineyards on soil of clay and chalk with small flintstones. It is filtered by modern techniques, then matured in steel tanks.

This produces soft and fruity wine with a peppery zest, and a very light golden hue.
