The wine story

Jeremy Mars was born and raised in Burgundy and studied in the local Beaune College of oenology. He had a family vineyard which was too small for his ambition and talent. In 2014 he met Lionel Deveney, a young and successful businessman who wanted to invest in his favorite Burgundy wines.

The two became partners, bought land in several terroirs and are now rising stars in the region. Lionel and Severine Deveney oversee the sales and marketing while Jeremy Mars is the head winemaker. They make a range of red and white wines all produced and bottled in their modern winery at Bligny les Beaunes. You can visit the domain and stay at their charming Bed and Breakfast.

This is one of their best wines. Grown on the Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses mountains on well oriented slopes, with a soil of clay and gravel and some iron oxide.

The Region

The Burgundy wine region is half the surface of the Bordeaux wine area. It is a narrow stretch of 300 kilometers on the Northern right bank of the Rhone river. Some of the most prestigious wines in the world are produced here. The local varieties Pinot noir and Chardonnay get their best expression here due to a combination of special terroir, cool climate, traditions and knowledge passed through generations.
