Tasting Notes: Aromas of fresh plum and red berries, with musty fruits and purple flowers. Hints of dark chocolate, earth and wet stones. On the palate mouthwatering flavors of raspberry, pomegranate, cherry and cranberry lead to plum and noticeable tannins structuring the medium body. Notes of anise, smoke, tobacco and chocolate filter through the long dry finish.

Varietal: 100% Merlot

Hold Time: drink now or can age well for 5 years.

Alcohol: 14.5%

Pair With: An elegant partner for fine-dining steakhouse fare; smoked duck, herb-marinated pork tenderloin, grilled vegetables or roast mushrooms with rosemary, or a traditional Enrecôte a la Bordelaise. For cheeses try any hard aged cheese with a distinct flavor, particularly cow’s milk like Comté or Cheddar. Smooth and creamy cheeses like Ossau-Iraty or Livarot can be complimentary.
